The technology is rapidly advancing at an incredible rate and has become an important part of our life. It is one of the principle driving forces of the future, improving our lifestyle and shaping our future. People try to invent new gadgets and devices which can make human life simpler and less time consuming. If I had the opportunity to invent a brand-new gadget, I would invent a universal translator which is capable of translating speech from any language to any language. Language is portrayed as a part of a persons identity. It enables the person to impart knowledge, ideas or thoughts and express emotions and feelings. Language is the medium through which we can relate and understand each other (Imberti, 2007).The difference in language is an impediment to communication and two people who speak two different languages cannot communicate with each other. In todays generation, people prefer to go to other countries in search of a job or for education and mostly they find in difficult to adjust to a new place because of the difference in language. My invention will make it easier and convenient for people to adapt and accustom to a new society. The limits of our language means the limits of our world (Wittgenstein, 1922). My invention would be a small square-shaped device that is lightweight and handy. A person just has to speak out the phrase he/she wishes to translate and the device will automatically voice the same phrase in the preferred language. My device will be easy to use with no complications and will contain all the languages in the world so people from any culture, religion or tribe can use it comfortably. The future of humanity depends broadly on its ability to communication. If communication is made easier, it will be helpful for the development and p rogress of our society.
